A growing number of California vets are speaking out against the so-called California Healthy Pets Act, AB 1634. As animal health professionals they are not convinced that AB 1634 will accomplish its stated goals. Instead they are concerned that its passage could lead to new problems and a host of unintended consequences for people, pets and society.
California veterinarians are also speaking out against the process used by the California Veterinary Medical Association (CVMA) in developing and ultimately sponsoring this bill. They are concerned that the CVMA's sponsorship implies endorsement by veterinarians who were not part of the process, including many veterinarians who strongly oppose this bill.
This section includes the link for veterinarians to 1) sign in opposition to AB 1634 and to view the growing lists of veterinarians who have already done so.
