Who writes the blogs?
The NAIA blogs are written by people of diverse backgrounds who have personal experience living with Animals. "Living with animals" is a large umbrella, and can mean anything from owning a pet to working on a farm to training service animals to hunting.
What topics are covered?
Currently, there are blogs covering the following issues:
Animal Rights vs. Animal Welfare Hunting, Fishing, and Conservationism Pet Issues Farm and Angriculture Animal Training Working and Performing Animals In-depth Articles We may eventually expand or consolidate blogs depending on demand, overlap, or other issues.
Are all blog entries going to consist NAIA talking points?
We obviously have opinions on animal issues, and we're not afraid to express them, so it would be untrue to claim pure objectivity within the NAIA blogs. However, while it is fair to say most articles will be NAIA pov-centric, that doesn't mean we want to censor or discourage differing viewpoints. If a blog post is coherent, interesting, and devoid of wild, unverifiable assertions, there's a good chance it will be published, even if its viewpoint runs counter to that of NAIA.
Who can respond to the blogs ?
Registered users can respond to the blogs. To register as a user, simply click "join" (found on the upper, right-hand corner of the blog homepage), and follow the instructions.
How can I respond to the blogs?
It's easy: just go to the comments box, write your comments (make sure you're logged in), then hit the "submit" button. .
Am I allowed to strongly disagree with this site's bloggers?
Why not? We're all entitled to our opinions, aren't we? As long as you avoid flaming or general troll-like behavior in your response, disagreement is perfectly fine.
Why is blog navigation so counter-intuitive?
We're working on it -- an overhaul may be forthcoming
.
I want to do more than just read and respond to the blogs... is there a way I write some of my own entries?
If you have experience living or working with animals and a
desire to write about it... go for it! Contact Yossarian with your intentions, and you may very well become NAIA's next blogger. Seniority, writing skills, and past behavior are taken into account when selecting potential bloggers.
I was here awhile ago, and there were forums, too. What happened to them?
They're gone for now, because having both a blog and forum with zero traffic seemd kind of redunant. We'll bring them back when the site starts getting more registered users.
Who do I contact if I still need help after reading this FAQ?
